Life Of A Beauty Addict.

I have been in the beauty and skin care business for 25+ years now. I have
worked with the best and the worst in the industry. I know the marketing
techniques to sell consumers pretty much anything, however, I have decided to
use my knowledge for good and spread the word about what beauty and skin care
products actually work, pretty packaging or not. I choose to remain anonymous,
due to the fact that the information I will be givning to you will be the
"tricks of the trade" that someone of my status should never reveal. Why am I
doing this you ask? Beauty is a multi-billion dollar industry. I want to help
woman world-wide buy products that work, instead of trying every expensive
product on the market, today. I am giving my unbias, honest experiences with
products my family and I have used throughout the years. Welcome to the life of
a beauty addict.

MAKE UP BAG

Since I published my Bathroom Bag of Beauty, I thought you might want to know what kind of makeup I use as well. I have had the same beauty regimen for years now and have mixed and matched products that work best for me. To describe my appearance, I'd like to say I am of mixed racial ethnicity's. I have big, dark eyes and naturally abnormally long eye lashes. I have a small mouth with pink, full lips and pale skin. I also was blessed with a small nose and eye brows that frame my eyes perfectly. Now, I'm going to explain to you, using pictures and captions, how I accent my God-given features. I like to go for the natural look on a daily basis, so this captures what I wear every day, not for special occasions. I will do a more done-up make up blog later on.

For my base, I use Urban Decay's Cream to Powder foundation. As I've said before, I have travelled all over the world and found this foundation works best for my skin. I have oily skin and some acne scaring from when I was younger. This foundation masks all of my scaring and gives me natural, flawless looking coverage. Some people like to use the brush that it comes with to apply it, but I found it to be easier to apply using my freshly-washed fingertips or a foundation sponge. Since my skin is fair, I used "Illusion" as my foundation color.

For my powder, I use (and swear by) this Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup. Since my skin has a tendency to get oily throughout the day, this powder works miracles on keeping it look fresh, diminishing the look of oily skin. It also gives your skin a perfect-looking natural glow. As if you were born with naturally perfect skin. This product seems to last me a very long time, longer than what I have found other powders last me. My daughter uses this product, too, and says that those who are worries about breaking out, will love this product. Your skin is able to breath since this product is a light, mineral powder, which will help in the prevention of acne and blackheads. The color I use is called "Illusion" as well.

For my eye browns, I like to fill them in a little bit to give them that extra thick look. This kit comes with miniature tweezers, wax (for applying it smoothly), and two different eye brow shades. It works really well and everyone else I have showed this product to, instantly fell in love with it. I have very dark hair and the color I use is "Brown Sugar."

I was shown this product by a family friend. My eye lashes are already extremely thick and long, so I wanted a mascara that doesn't clump them together like most other mascaras do. This Clinique Lash Doubling mascara made my eye lashes look like falsies. They are beautiful and never clumpy.

I have never liked eye liner pencils. I have used eye liner products from Benefit, YSL, MAC, etc. The few times I have used the pencil, I got a splinter on my eye from the wood and the other times it just seemed like a huge chore to keep sharpening the pencil. I ONLY use the twist up kind. This one in particular is my favorite, because it's really dark and brings out the gold/green flex in my brown/hazily eyes. It also goes on really smooth and lasts a lot longer than eye liner pencils. They have them in an array of different colors, but black is what I wear on a daily basis. I get mine at Vons, and I am sure they are available at any grocery store or Wal-mart.

For a lip gloss, I love all of the ones available at Bath & Body works! They all smell amazing and make my lips tingle. I am not a lip stick fan and prefer a natural, polished look.

For a chap stick, I really love the Restore & Revive combo by Blistex. Since I have started using it, my lips have never felt smoother! It has a bit of a shine, but no real color. It is available at any Wal-mart or grocery store for about $5-$6.
